Schotia Game Reserve Full Day
Run by the same family since the early 1800s, this malaria-free destination holds the title of the Eastern Cape’s oldest private game reserve. Because the property packs a massive number of animals into a smaller footprint, guests can experience exceptional wildlife viewing without spending hours in a vehicle. It pioneered the return of free-roaming lions to the province, making them the star attraction of their sunset safaris. The dense bush is also filled with rhinos, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and various antelope species. To cap off the evening drive, guests gather around a crackling fire in an outdoor lapa for an authentic South African meal.
Experience one of South Africa’s premier private game reserves with an open safari vehicle, traditional braai lunch, and professional guide. Guests are picked up around 7 a.m. and transferred to Schotia Private Game Reserve. At 8:00 meet your guide for a short briefing before boarding the open safari vehicle. Then, a morning game drive to spot lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and more. At 12:30, enjoy a traditional South African braai lunch, with vegetarian options available. Afternoon safari continues through different areas of the reserve. With excellent photographic opportunities. refreshments are served, and the game drive concludes by 5:30. Guests checking out the same day may follow the guide in their own vehicle to Schotia, and depart directly afterwards.
